WMC crashes when I go into Movies strip

WMC crashes when I include movies stored in MKV containers located on another machine. I would say this is a problem with WMC accessing a network share but the same remote machine has my pictures, music, videos, etc. located on it so the only problem I can think of would be that WMC isn't handling MKV files very well. I don't ever get far enough to try to start a movie, so it doesn't occur with playback. Instead, WMC crashes as soon as I try going into the folder. What could be causing this? thanks.

I am not sure, but I do know that WMC does not support playback of MKV videos out of the box. So you must do something to get them to work. Perhaps whatever you did to try to make them work (assuming local MKV playback works) is causing problems?
