A 750 Ti?
Also want to be make sure the power consumption doesn't go up much in order not to produce more heat in the case. A silent model would be a plus.
If you are running a silent card, i.e. fanless then a 750ti probably uses way more power than that card, current silent Nvidia cards are usually GT730, GT710.

It's not ideal, but I can do it with my remote while sitting on the couch and don't have to dig out the mouse.
I always have a wireless mouse on the arm of the couch because I also spend some time online from there. My LG 65" 4K OLED makes a darn good monitor as well as tv! I love the picture so much. I always hated the dark gray blacks when the room lights are out, now when the screen goes black you can't even see where the tv is.

My Media Center by Ceton is a pretty handy app for your phone. TeamViewer will Remote Control the entire PC including WMC.

I use an Ortek VRC-1100 remote control, which has a handy round button for 360-degree mouse control. Also has left and right mouse buttons, of course. Works fine. One downside is the design idiots used black lettering on dark grey buttons so you can't really see the lettering unless you're up close; useless! But, for the price, which comes with a USB IR receiver, it can't be beat. By the way, the coding is not typical remote coding. It actually sends keystrokes to the receiver. So, you can't use the available software tweaks that work on the "real" WMC remote control.

When my skip video freezes, I use the "clear" button which closes WMC window and then the green button reopens it.

So, sounds like any Nvidia will work, it is a AMD problem?

What woudl be an equivalent (or better) NVIDIA to a AMD 6570 1GB. Preferably with passive cooling and/or energy efficient with minimal fan noise?

Yes, AMD seems to have more issues.

I don't know of an equivalent but I used a Zotac GT710 version - fanless, $30 from Micro Center. It was local and I could try it and return it if necessary.

Just found this thread that you started:

Sounds like 710 is close but not perfect?

Does this sound like the same skip problem as you?

I chose the 710 because:

1. needed low profile
2. needed 25W or less
3. wanted fanless
4. needed Nvidia
5. wanted something cheap

I do NOT experience the skip/freeze issue, which I did with an AMD 5450. I am 95% satisfied with this setup and can easily live with the couple minor glitches:

1. jerky fast forward
2. rare freeze on previous channel when switching to DRM one. Rareely happens and only when going from Comcast 800 range to 200 range DRM. Strange but I can live with it.

So, I was thinking to upgrade to AMD RX 460. But doing some google it appears the issue is not fixed, even with the latest driver?
The only hope then is a nvidia 1050?

Where do you see the 1050 is the only hope? My 710 works just fine, 95% of the time. Plus I needed a card to meet all the requirements above - the 1050 doesn't come close, for me.

I'd be leary of investing in a pricey card, as you never know what Comcast will do next.
