What sucks now, on fios they started using CC on FX , nat geo and some other channels. The channels are starting to be jerks.

Yeah, all Fox-owned cable channels now have copy protection on FiOS. I don't even understand what they are trying to prevent. You can find most any show you want online, so it is not preventing that. Do they just want me to not be able to email a show I recorded to a friend or something?

I bet it's about preserving advertising. It's much more difficult to remove commercials from copy once material, right? The goal is to get everyone on streaming and off DVRs so they can have complete control over advertising again.Space wrote:Do they just want me to not be able to email a show I recorded to a friend or something?

As noted on one of your other topics, this is a waste of time. After the merger is complete, you will be under the Charter policy.

I got a letter from TWC (in response to my FCC complaint) hinting toward this but not outright saying that the Charter would implement their policy. But I won't hold my breathe.JimE wrote:As noted on one of your other topics, this is a waste of time. After the merger is complete, you will be under the Charter policy.
