HDHomerun Prime 6

HDHomerun Prime 6

Has anyone heard anything from Silicon Dust about the release of the HDHomerun Prime 6?

I emailed them last week about the expected availability and have heard nothing back as yet.

I do so want to get rid of my 2 Ceton ETH's.

Nada since CES. Who knows if the 6-tuner will ever make it to market.

I would dump your Ceton Ethernet tuners and just get the current HD Homerun primes.

I've had ATI, Ceton and now HD Homerun.

Silicondust is solid and works so much better than the cetons.

I would purchase 2 HD HR Primes, but with how much Comcast wants for a cable card, it's not worth it. I'm hoping they come out with it sooner than later & the price is reasonable

A client of mine uses a HDHR Prime 2-tuner with a cablecard and Comcast tries to sneak in substantial fees for the cablecard every few months. I remind her that cablecard fees are irregular (in opposition to existing regulation,) and against all current tariffs. She calls them and complains on a regulatory basis and they always relent and, either eliminate the cost, or back it down to 89¢. I would love to figure out how to nail them for this because they know they can get away with it and not get into trouble...any ideas?

It now occurs to me that this post might be better suited to a different topic...I apologize.

OP has 2 x 6 turners ETH's, that would be 4 HDHR Primes, plus 4 cables cards, based on the currently available 3 turner version. Not a good trade at the moment.

I'm interested in the the 6 turner prime as well, need to get something else going for 2019, time to upgrade my aging WHS2011 server and Win 7 MCE setup.

Fingers crossed.

Correct about me using two cablecards. I don't care about Comcast's monthly charge (I think it's $4.95/card), I just want reliable tuners. Support emailed me back with a terse "not available yet'.

Modern cable card devices require 1 card for up to 6 tuners. So the Ceton ETH6 or the mythical 6-tuner Homerun would require 1 card. Two 3-tuner Primes would require 2 cards simply because they are 2 distinct devices. Is that what you're asking?

As would two ETH's which I have. If you're asking me, I have no questions about cablecards.
