WMC Video Library metadata
WMC has a VIDEO Library and a MOVIE Library. How do I display metadata in the VIDEO Library?
Can the WMC VIDEO Library display metadata embedded in video files?

As I understood, the Video library was not really designed for Movie or TV content. I believe it was designed for family type videos(personally I use it for other content) I don't think there was ever a option to get Meta data in the Video library. There are 3rd party applications that add a "TV library" type thing but, the built in thing is a different story.Keylonta wrote:WMC has a VIDEO Library and a MOVIE Library. As for the Movie library, YAMMM is my fav, still works and is pretty much all automatic...

I'll take a guess....
I would think you would need to configure your MetaData "Scraper/Collector" to add the Video Folder as a "Watched Folder"
I don't think I ever dealt with this problem before. I only keep my Phone Video's in there.

Ok so for video metadata wmc MIGHT use tags similar to what it does for pictures. Tags are still metadata but the tags for personal videos might be different than the tags for movie files. If you have the photo software that came with windows essentials whose name I can't remember at the moment then you may be able to insert metadata into your video files that way

Here is what I did...Keylonta wrote:WMC has a VIDEO Library and a MOVIE Library. How do I display metadata in the VIDEO Library?

Pick a File in your Video Library folder (assumedly a movie)
Go to IMDB and get the correct name of the movie
Create a folder using the correct name
Put your file in the folder (you might have to rename the file to the same as the folder)
Cut and Paste the file into your working Movie Folder
Your Meta Data Scraper will place a couple files inside the folder
Cut and paste the folder back into the WMC Video Folder
Voilla
This should get you started toward getting the exact results you want.
Looks like the Eclipse picture is too big for the Video Folders PlaceHolder. I dont see any Synopsis either
Need someone with a little bigger brain....Who's NEXT?

When you look at this in WMC Video's, And Open the Twilight folder, then right click the Twilight file and click Details.... I did get to Synopsis...but there isn't much there.
If you go to the File Explorer "Video's Folder" and click Details....You can add Right click NAME and a drop list appears where you can add various additional properties

Over on my Main Win7 WMC, that has a properly configured MOVIES Folder, the Twighlight Movie Poster and complete synopsis display the Twighlight.MKV exactly the way we want.
As you can see there are a couple "Other Types"... such as, the Adult Poster, and a couple documentary Series that were configured manually also.

Thanks everyone!
Where is the official download for YAMMM now? The last version I tried some years ago was yammm_setup_w7_13_10_28_1336 from http://www.missingremote.com but the topic has been removed. What is the latest version?DavidinCT wrote:As for the Movie library, YAMMM is my fav, still works and is pretty much all automatic...
