Thanks for doing the tests - its good news that you got it working. Can we swap HTPCs?

Just so I can replicate what you've done as accurately as possible.....

did you install LAV video aswell or just the audio?

have you set up any third party splitters?
3. Set up any third party codecs for filetypes in the filter tweaker tool (I have mine all at default).
Did you use a codec pack for setting up the codecs or did you install them individually? Could you let me know which ones you have installed?
9. Make sure that TV playback is OK (run MC in windowed mode and you should see that LAV is still decoding TV audio)
How does running in windowed mode let you see the LAV is decoding the TV audio?

I'm running windows 7 64 bit, which means Media Centre is 64 bit so I install all 64 bit versions of codecs - right?

Regards, Andrew

Hi.

The LAV installer will put the splitter and video codecs on the PC during setup.

I'm just using the LAV audio part for live TV, everything else has been reset to MS codecs using the filter tweaker 'reset' button on each tab.

All other filetypes (avi, mp4 etc) are being handled by the default MS codecs.

Running MC in windowed mode allows you to see the Windows taskbar - you will see the LAV audio icon in the bottom right corner when it's being used for playback.

It's worth following the steps I used and set ffdshow or AC3 where I set LAV to see if it works, I'll try at the weekend if I get time.

Wow - it is possible!!

All sorted. I followed your "idiots guide" and it worked at treat. This is fantastic news for people like me who have had a lip sync problem due to using HDMI for video and optical for audio. I can now indtroduce a slight delay on my audio and the sync is perfect.

I can't thank you enough Rob for you time and effort. Top man!!

I'm going to save a image of this set up in case I ever break it.

Thanks again, a very happy Andrew
