Didn't know where else to put this although this site is MUCH nicer to navigate than the microsoft rubbish..
I'm pretty much looking for an answer fromRob without being too stalker-ish !!
Got my filesto dump with graph edit . the video works perfectly when run through tsmuxer. the audio however is unrecognised??
did all the language changing rhubarb in wmc and wmp...

Hi milli,

I'll try and get a bit of time to run a few conversions later today and see if things still work in the same way.

If you want to upload a small sample recording somewhere then I can try converting it too so we're using the same source file?

Are you receiving BBCHD (and any other channels?) via DVB-T or DVB-S ?

I thought it was only fitting I posted first seeing as I asked for the sub-forum :-)
Anyway I can extract/dump audio and video from graphedit. The video works fine as m2ts when I try load the audio it is unrecognized?
I've done all the English settings in wmp and wmc to no avail, tried extracting audio from wtv with goldwave which also failed...
I'm now officially lost ..... anyone help?

Is this happening on all files that you try to convert, or from certain channels only?

I'll be around this evening hopefully so if you're online we'll try and work through a few ideas.

Failing that, I'll upload a few sample files and screen grabs of graphs etc that might help.

Sorry, I didn't get around to it last night. I'll do a few short recordings of the HD channels and see how they all do.

I actually moved to using VideoRedo recently and it is a nice product - I guess it comes down to ease of use and number of conversions you do vs cost though.

Ok, I've converted recordings from BBC1 HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD, C4 HD and Five HD and all convert OK.

I know that some BBC HD programmes (especially the Preview stuff) sometimes contains only one audio track so that might affect things.

Here is a grab of a really simple graph that works OK for me:

There is no DRM on the Freesat streams, do you have any third party codecs installed, or have you tweaked codecs being used by MC (MCDU/Win7DSFilterTweaker)?

If you get time then I'd recommend a fresh install of Win7 on a spare partition maybe to see if it helps?

If you want to do a few short test recordings and find one that won't convert then let me know and we'll sort out an ftp link or something and I'll try a conversion on my PC.

Struggling again with this... Mary Poppins came out ok in the end... but now i have a few other recordings that i can dump fine as ac3 and h264, but when i remux with TSmuxer the audio is well out. almost like the video running too quick. tried recoding with a deinterlace thrown in tried changing the frame rate multiple times. No joy every time it's out of sync...
Anyone got any pointers????

Hi mate, me again!

I've been converting a few recordings using the dump.ax method and haven't seen the sync issues you describe.

Which channels are the troublesome files from? We could both set a few matching recordings and compare encode results maybe?

Do you have any codes installed?

haali splitter and possibly ac3filter is all i've got. new install does the same as the old one. mostly ITV stuff guess it's the interlacing.
i think tsmuxer tries to mux it progressive. which it isn't????
