Ain't over yet ! And I am sure you will be able to buy a copy of Windows 7 home premium, ultimate, or pro for many years to come. Although Microsoft still says they are not going to sell it, many companies are not moving to 10 and skipped over 8.1 completely. There will be demand for licenses for Windows 7 for many years.

Good thing. I think a lot of TGBers went the way of W10.DavidinCT wrote:Ain't over yet ! Where is the problem? WMC still runs in Windows 10. It's not official, but it runs as usual. My Win 10 based WMC currently records TV like mad (from DVB-S2). And WMC is simple to install/setup/use and runs reliable, even in Win 10. Transition to Kodi or something else has no pressure until Microsoft closes the support for WMC under Windows 8.1. As long WMC will still get EPG updates. We have time until year 2022.
(By the way, Kodi is also not too bad. It's really worth a look, and if you have a WMC remote control, it's keys can be defined with a plugin called "MCE Remote" from default repo or with "Keymp Editor" from SuperRepo. I have installed it in parallel to WMC, with a 2nd DVB-S2 card with DVBViewerPro. I am still experimenting with it, trying it's possibilities and so. Tomorrow I will make a 1st automatic TV recording test in parallel to a WMC based recording.)
