UK EPG - A happy story!

#1

Post by mark1234 » Sat Apr 20, 2013 11:22 am

I usually moan like anything about the complete and utter lack of response to any UK EPG issues, but, just this once, I need to be balanced and report some happy news as well.

Virgin have done a load of channel launches and renumbering this year, leaving the EPG a bit out of date. I raised Connect tickets, sat back and got the expected response - none. I enlisted Ian Dixon's help to poke his MVP contacts, and steadily over the last couple of months the tickets have been addressed. At one point, three tickets I raised on a Tuesday morning were fixed by the Friday - an unheard of response time! Finally, when I checked this morning all 25 tickets that I've raised this year are actually fixed.

This now means that all the channels I even slightly care about are listed and have data in my EPG - I can't remember the last time that was the case, if it ever has been. I'm well chuffed.

I know that Virgin have still more channel launches and renumbering going on over the next few weeks, and for once, I'm actually relatively confident that the tickets I raise will be addressed.

Thank you Microsoft, BDS & Ian.

Nah, just old school analogue capture.

I'd love to get hold of the digital streams using DVB-C and a CI, but it just ain't an option. :(
