PickTV (Sky DVB-S)

#1

Post by holidayboy » Thu Jul 14, 2011 12:17 pm

Hi peeps, has anybody here fixed the issue of the two PickTV channels not working via a Dreambox and DVBLink?

I know it's been an issue for a while, I just never got around to looking into it.

I'm looking at trying oscam but just wondered if anybody else has an alternative?

Hi spaceboy,

I saw this a while back but never got around to it.

I'm going to have a bash tomorrow, or over the weekend.

let me know how you get on, i don't even remember what i have on the dreambox but i'll probably let this one slide for a while until it affects more channels unless it sounds easy to do. cheers

installing oscam on the dreambox is required - once its installed, I found that the only plugin I could get working with my DB/technomate, was acamd for some reason. Hadu couldn't connect to oscam.

Let me know if you need any info on my setup

Yeah a quick check of the picktv listings confirmed it as one I wouldn't allow to be watched, so no bother for me I just disabled it. I just find it a bit weird that they are only using this on one channel?

Hey Rob,

well, my current setup, that's been up and working well since Sept/Oct when my technomate arrived... is to install cccam 2.1.4, and Oscam (not sure of verison, but it was the latest at the time). I'll upload config file details later on for you...but its clearing all the channels we receive, and updating entitlements, so as far as I'm concerned, its doing good :D

I wonder if they're using this channel as a test, maybe it'll be implemented on other channels in the future... I wasn't too concerned about loosing Pick tv, as we never watch it, but it was the perceived threat that was more of a concern :shh:

Hi Rob,

ok - here's the settings I've got in place:

Good luck Rob :-)

I'm not entirely sure that the : L line is required, just haven't gotten around to removing it, since its working - you know how WAF goes down when you touch something...

File: /var/etc/cccam.cfg contains:
N: 127.0.0.1 15000 dummy dummy 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 256
L: 127.0.0.1 15001 dummy1 dummy1 0963 000000 256

maybe while you're setting it up, try it with and without and see if it affects the decoding?

Thanks
Tony
