Ceton doesn't want to get left holding a warehouse full of paperweights. They'd rather sell them to unsuspecting buyers.

If you feel the need to use the Echo, I would buy it trough Amazon. This way you have a great return policy. I bought 3 echos in December and returned all 3 in January and did not lose a penny at all.

Yep, Newegg's return policy sucks. I had a similar experience with a Homerun Prime. Return shipping and restocking cost me alot. Hopefully Amazon will follow suite and mark the Echo down to $99 like Newegg. If I didn't already have a house full of Echoes, I'd pick up a few more.

Returns are free with ShopRunner, which, unlike the Prime at Amazon, works with many vendors.

You can always chat with Newegg reps to remove the restocking fee. Never failed me.
