wow... I've been wanting a cable card tuner for a while, but the ceton was more than I had to spend on my htpc right now and 4 tuners are overkill for me. The silicon dust one was getting closer to what I wanted to pay but still isn't shipping I don't think. This one fits my budget even better and 2 tuners is perfect for me. I may just have to pick this one up.
side note: this price point is coming down close to where the general public could be interested. If only media center was advertised better it could take off. The perfect advertising for this tuner in my opinion is to target households that already have an xbox and already have a windows 7 pc. For just 129 you can have a dvr and stop paying your cable company 15 or 20 bucks a month to have one. All HD and can add as much space as you want really easy for cheap.

Very interesting.
I have the HD Prime pre-ordered, but had I known this was coming out I would have considered it. I will certainly use more tuners, but I think I could probably get by on 2 for less cost.
In fact I may consider dropping my pre order for the 3 tuner Prime now. Half the cost for only one less tuner is pretty appealing, and I have two other Hauppaugge products that have served me well.

Yeah, it is a bit funny- first Ceton undercuts the SiliconDust on price per tuner, then hauppauge, who is working alongside SD is undercutting SD on price per unit!

Yeah Hauppauge just priced SD out of the market now. The SD product has now become even more niche...the only people likely to buy it at its current price are those people that need dynamic tuner pooling. For everyone else, there are better options now:
If you are considering buying the HDHRP3:
If you are considering buying the HDHRP3:
- You can save $121 if you just go with the WinTV-DCR-2650. Yes, you lose a tuner, but if you really want that 3rd tuner, consider buying 2 WinTV-DCR-2650's; you'll get the 3rd tuner, plus you get a 4th tuner for only $8 more! There is a drawback though. Getting 2 WinTV-DCR-2650's will require 2 CableCARDs, whereas the HDHRP3 only requires 1 CableCARD. If you want 4 tuners and 1 CableCARD, go with the InfiniTV4.
- Instead of paying $499.99 for the HDHRP6, you can save $71 by getting an InfiniTV4 and a WinTV-DCR-2650. Both solutions require 2 CableCARDs.

It will be interesting to see how the quality of this unit stacks up against the Ceton. Glad to see more products coming to market as it will help drive down the cost on other brands which will be great for the consumer.
