Pan Am first 9 episodes Free (limited time) digital download

You can get the first nine episodes of Pan Am as a digital download (WMV format) from Amazon in both HD WMV and SD WMV.

For those of you who are not familar, Amazon digital downloads can be played in Windows Media Center. You will need to install their Unbox App on your Windows Media Center PC. Once installed you can go to any PC and click on buy $0.00 and choose to download it to the PC that has the Unbox app installed. Their digital downloads are compatible with Media Center Extenders.

Another nice thing about Amazon digital downloads for those that haven't used their service yet, they have .99cent rentals and other specials all the time. Often Amazon will have specials anywhere from $3.00 to $5.00 VOD credit for purchasing DVDs and Blu-rays.

The Pan Am special is also available on iTunes however, the iTunes downloads will not playback via Windows Media Center.

If you are using extenders to view the digital download be sure and download both the SD version as well as the HD. I've had issues in the past with Amazon HD downloads playing back on extenders.

Were there more than 9 episodes? There's a reason why this show was cancelled.

I tell you there's something about those uniforms....

I used to fly KLM alone a lot when I was very young. They assigned you a stewardess wherever you were. Dutch KLM stewardesses are gorgeous. I felt like a king. Ah the memories :D

Thanks for the info. This might be a good alternative to VOD from the cableco. I installed it remotely on my HTPC, and I'll try watching a couple of things later tonight.

One question though... the Amazon site only talks about being able to watch these on the extenders. That's cool, but can they also be watched on the main HTPC via Media Center's 10-foot interface (with a remote control)?

Maybe this is a dumb question...

I installed the Unbox app, and I downloaded a couple of videos to my Media Center PC. I've browsed all around the menus in Media Center and I cannot find the Amazon videos. Where will they be located?

OK, Never mind. I figured it out. Unbox saves the files as WTV files into the directory specified during installation. If this directory is not already included in your media libraries, then media libraries need to be updated in the Media Center settings so that they point to the place where Unbox saves the files.
