Reading a little bit more, looks like we have to wait for the apps to be updated to support pass through audio. Still looks like it's becoming a nearly perfect box for local content/streaming!

Yes, but to be expected that they would need and probably will get updated, especially Plex seeing as it's native to the SHIELD. XBMC guys also are usually on top of those things with the shield.RyC wrote:Reading a little bit more, looks like we have to wait for the apps to be updated to support pass through audio. It's slim as hell and altogether pretty small. You don't really notice it with the device light off in settings. At least we don't. It's like the size of 3 of my Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 stacked on top of each other.STC wrote:Man, they made it look ugly.
WAF would score negative points on that one....

Yeah I know, just made me pause for a second before hitting the buy button on Amazon immediately, which is probably a good thingEd wrote:Yes, but to be expected that they would need and probably will get updated, especially Plex seeing as it's native to the SHIELD. Will wait for reviews, but it looks like Kodi is already working great on the Shield TV, just no passthrough HD audio (until now!)

Also, it's available officially in Europe now, and comes preloaded with the BBC Android TV apps (not available to all Android TV devices, only on Nvidia, Phillips and Sony Android TVs).

Maybe mods can move all the Android TV threads into one main thread or a sub forum? Couldn't decide where to post this.

Sounds like the default Nexus Player remote. It's cheap and plasticy (like it sounds). I use my Harmony 300i/350 remotes <3STC wrote:That clicky remote would drive me nuts.
Only thing good on the Nexus Player remotes are the Microphone/Mic button/voice support.
