WMC in Virtual Box?
Can I upgrade to windows 10 and run windows 8 media center in a virtual box?

It depends. Virualization can work with WMC but from what I've read from people that have tried it, it is generally better done if you're just using it as a DVR backend and leave playback to extenders, especially if you're dealing with any protected content as Virtualization means tons of HDCP headaches.

I was thinking about doing the same thing. Hyper-V client is built in to Windows 10 Pro. I wouldn't want the recordings to go in the VM however. For my setup no protected content so that wouldn't be an issue.
