Interesting stuff from the Beeb

I love their reference to 'wiping and resetting' the web lol.

Man, I donno. The price-tag alone seems to me to be a bit too-small.

Could they really built to-scale "the internet", and in such a way as to allow a "reset" between tests... all for $500 mil?

Reminds me of an episode of "The IT Crowd" where the guys convinced Jen that the ENTIRE INTERNET was in a small box. lol
Matt O. ...tivo what? ...dish dvr--uh... huh? ...cable dvr fees--you're kidding, right?

I think all they need is lots of processing power with a few thousand Exabyte’s. They could simulate the Worlds backbones, subnet layers and pipes. Most of it running over simulated EIGRP. Throw in a few protocols. Perhaps all they need to build is a skeleton of sorts, without all the crap out there. I doubt they’d be able to recreate the Worlds DNS, or want to.

Hey, who knows, perhaps in the far future, you could buy 'The Internet of 2011' in a box to take home and break!!

[Edited a bit to make it even more unintelligible]
