Want Internal ATI DCT
Looking for live tv on a secondary PC that will only need a single tuner, and would like an internal model.

Does Comcast use SimulCrypt in your area? If so, the ATI DCT won't work on encrypted channels.

No, I'm in an previously Adelphia area, still all old SA (now Cisco) equipment, but not using SimulCrypt.

I have two externals I modified for internal. I'll send a pic if you are interested (they look OE, are powered by 4 pin molex and have internal USB headers). Let me know.

I too have an external one handy and was able to solder 4 pin female Molex to the exposed contacts on the back side of the board. I tested power and USB connectivity afterwards and all seems to be in working order, the tricky part now is modding or fabricating a PCI slot bracket.

Velcro it to something. Why does it need to be in a slot?

I'll try and get you a pic this weekend. I found a card at work (might have been a parallel port card) that was close to the opening size I needed and used that as the starting point for the bracket, then just nibbled out the extra space needed.

Here you go. It looks like the donor bracket I found was a bit larger so I tacked on a small square plate with a hole in it for the coax:
The mounting holes look like they lined up:
The power cable:

Internal just sits in the pci connector, the connection is still through USB. It only comes in full height size, so you can't use it in a small form factor case.jerky33 wrote:Looking for live tv on a secondary PC that will only need a single tuner, and would like an internal model.
There is no difference between internal and external, it is the same tuner inside.

I get that the card itself is the same (excluding the power connector) however I was looking for some guidance on modifying/fabricating a PCI slot bracket, and after looking at 3rob3's pictures I was able to cobble something together using an old VGA card bracket.
Thanks for the images 3rob3, those were just what I was looking for, and I like your idea for the power connector, mine was a little less elegant (soldering wires from a male molex adapter directly to the board), I'll upload some images when my work is complete.

Do you happen to know the size of the power connector?3rob3 wrote: The power cable:

So the DC connector size is 'N', and here are some images of what I setup, very similar to yours.
I was able to find some USB cables on Amazon, which simplifies the installation. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001H56HWC/ref ... 00_TE_item
Thanks for the reference, this works quite well.
