Looking for a new 55 inch TV

Can't go bigger due to the cab my equipment is in. Any good experiences?

I've been playing with the LG55LM7600. Decent features good price. Good blacks. Slight bleed, but can be rectified with turning local dimming lower.

Then the Samsung UN55ES8000. Slightly higher price point, better display I think. Excellent blacks.

Oh man, the Samsung F8500 looks fantastic...Not a bad price considering latest tech.

I'll wait a while to get some reviews. It's about to be released.

Yeah, the F8500 plasma has been promoted as the plasma that's as bright as an LED and darker than a Kuro. It will be interesting to see how it actually performs.

I'm very tempted to go for a F8500 :D

I think I can get a 51 for a tickle under 2k CAD here in Canada when the supplier gets stock.
A 60 inch wont fit, I wish they did a 55 inch model. Oh well.

If I do get one I shall certainly post my findings.

Maybe weeks before any stock arrives though.

Aw man. Stock has arrived and I drive almost past his door on Monday...
I bit the bullet. Picking one up then. Save on ship and a decent discount offered as the first to get one from him

Won't be able to set it up until Thursday, then I have to burn it in for about 200 hours, then calibrate.

WAF should go up hopefully. I haven't spent any money on toys for a long while so I'm justifying it to myself that way lol ...

All I can say is, wow... I love this TV.
I've never had plasma before and I am in love :)

FYI, 4K TV's are about to become (almost) affordable: http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/07/sony-4k-tv-pricing/

Content is the problem - with TV broadcast at 720p/1080i - and no 4K BRs on the horizon - it's gonna be limited to any streaming service that will offer it - and Netflix and Youtube are the only ones I'm aware of that do/have mentioned it.

TBH I would not buy the first type of any product. I'd wait a few years for any tech to mature.
