Oh man, those hard disks are way too close vertically even with a fan trying to blat air through the tiny gaps...

Nice project. It will make a lot of noise though.

He says it's in a comms room, so noise isn't an issue. I also think the drives are too closely packed together, but he's reporting temps below 30C which is good.

Be honest though, if you could, you would, wouldn't you??!!

I like guys that go all full bore crazy. I wouldn't have been so hung up on shoving it all in one box but other than that it's a nice build.

I think I have that full bore covered. I have a server somewhere around 24 TB in a case with 12 bays of 20 bays populated, running thru a sata III controller (converted to JBOD with DriveBender), plus an OS disk and backup disk..... bluray reader , and esata bluray reader from another box for ripping.

My htpc also has 6 hotswap bays with 12tb for recorded tv in 4 bays with 2 bays available. I keep coming up with different numbers but I think, purchase wise I'm at something like 37 TB...…

All rack mounted

who really needs that?

but it's fun

I have no idea who would need anything like that.
