Made Line Up Change, Now Display Driver Error
The line up for Time Warner Cable in the Raleigh, NC area just changed last week. In order to get the new line up, I followed pretty much the same path as described in this St. Louis thread: http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... =13&t=6860
However, now I'm getting the "display driver error - the video playback device does not support playback of protected content" problem. Everything worked fine before (for like a year)! The guide data is correct now, but I just can't watch anything.
Uhm lemme see what you might need to know... CableCARD in a HDHR3-CC connected to a Win 7 machine. HDMI out from mobo.
Any ideas?

Go to Control Panel -> Sound. Set the audio output to 2 channel stereo. Now, go through the Media Center Settings menu, and "Setup your speakers". Choose 5.1 or 7.1 audio (whichever one is closest to your speaker configuration).

Yes, in may cases it can fix this error... The actual message is somewhat misleading.

Ok I'm not seeing these options in Win 7. Please let me know if I'm not looking in the right place. I click on:barnabas1969 wrote:Go to Control Panel -> Sound. Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Sound
Here I see TX-NR609 (Onkyo Receiver) and Speakers. I click speakers and then "Configure". Options are Stereo, Quardaphonic, and 5.1 - stereo is already selected. Next, Next and then Finish. I don't actually see a setting for "audio output" and "2 channel stereo".
Then within MCE I got this done right... Settings > General > Windows Media Center Setup > Set Up Speakers
but I'm still getting the same Display Driver Error. Rebooted and same thing.
Am I missing something in Control Panel?
Thanks for any advice you can give.

I just re-installed Windows on one system with all the same components, settings, etc... And I am getting the same error when it used to work just fine. I was hoping this fix would work, but just like wackychimp I don't see the exact same settings - and what I have set already seems to be equivalent. Still no live TV. Weird.

What video cards are you using ? Or are you using onboard audio/video via the mainboard hdmi output?
