No audio from TV well for 10 seconds

No audio from TV well for 10 seconds
When I turn the TV on the TVs volumne comes on for 10 seconds then mutes itself.
The Samsung TV is set to internal speaker.
I have the Yamaha 465RX AVR connected to the HTPC/DVR/TV all w/ HDMI cables
Then there’s a optical cable out of AVR directely into TV.
When I switch from TV to either HTPC or DVR the audio plays fine (as it always has for 5 years) though the AVR.
Just no audio from TV.
I recentely messed around w/ the Yamaha setting (don't rememeber changing anything) and now have a red HDMI passthough dot comes on when the whole Sys. Is shutdown.
this is when the new problem audio started
