Home Network Build

I figured I would use this medium in order to show off my home network, including the HTPC and extenders and fish for some new ideas.

First, I went to monoprice and grabbed 1000' of CAT6 and all the jacks/plates/etc... that I could possibly need. I also bought a 12U rack and put my cisco equipment in place for CCNA studies. The LAN is gigabit for future expansion and file transfers between my desktop & HTPC for the most part.

I ran everything in the crawlspace & attic, keeping it in the walls allows me to avoid conflict with the wife.

I prefer "low key" cases, like this Linkworld...

I realize that I don't run the latest hardware, but everything is tried & tested, while as reliable as humanly possible.

Suggestions?

Looks good. I agree about running wires in the walls is good for WAF.

Is that a Comcast Cable Box in the pic? Why not get rid of it?

I kept it just for the WAF, but now she is getting comfortable with the HTPC (she uses it more than I do)

I'll return it this weekend.
