WHS 2011 Launchpad for MAC

Hi,
My WHS 2011 has been set up for roughly 2 years and I received a mac laptop as a gift recently.

I've been trying to get my Macbook (10.8.2) running WHS 2011 launchpad but it seems to be a brick wall, filled with problems. When I first downloaded the 'connector' when I tried to log in it would endlessly loop. I found a fix here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wik ... entmessage

The fix however only furthers the problem. Now when I try to log in I get an error: "SIGN IN FAILED: An unexpected error has occured. Ensure that all services are running correctly on the computer. If the problem persists, contact the person who administers your server" - Naturally....I administer my server.

I checked the logs and found this:
Nov 18 12:03:29 MacBookPro.local WSL[2793] <Error>: /Users/xcbusr/macbuild/Request/9AA878B8-1898-4BEA-8BA9-0B5091CFCEE7/MacUtils/MacWebServiceProxy.m:99 Invalid LoginResponse
Nov 18 12:03:29 MacBookPro.local WSL[2793] <Error>: /Users/xcbusr/macbuild/Request/9AA878B8-1898-4BEA-8BA9-0B5091CFCEE7/LaunchPad/LPSignInController.m:166 Validation check failed with an unexpected network error

Since I haven't been able to find anything on this, I was hoping someone here would be able to help. I know this isn't a mac forum - but I've been a member here since before the site moved and it's always been very helpful!!!

I don't have WHS, but I wonder if this isn't the result of Apple changing the Macintosh SMB functionality (as of 10.7, Lion). That caught LOTS of people by surprise.

Turns out it was a bug they knew about. They half fixed it in WHS Rollup 4 where the launchpad now signs in etc. Only problem is - Time machine backup still doesn't work
