OK, it's not as bad as I thought. Somewhere in that condo there is one line coming in to the bldg. Usually this line will have your strongest signal. Can you get to it? or is it covered over with drywall?
Yea, I can get to it. It's more like a townhome than a condo. Thanks for the help though....

I'm new to this scene and am trying to decide if I should buy the HDHomeRun Prime vs. a CETON Infnitv 6 ETH. I understand the Prime only has 3 tuners vs. 6 tuners in the Infinitv 6 but figure if I really need 6 tuners then I can buy two HDHomeRun Primes (still costs less than one Infinitv 6)....

Also note that the issue is not caused by the Prime, but by the MTR700 and thus can potentially affect any OCUR device on a cable system using that TA even though SD has released a workaround patch for the Prime.

My system has been working flawlessly for months - since I started using it in January of this year. Any anomalies that have come up could be explained - or WMC recovered on it's own (e.g., cancels but then finds another tuner).

There appears to be a 30 second delay, after the computer wakes, until the tuners are found again. If the WMC frontend tries to tune a channel before the WMC service has found the tuners, it can lock out the search for tuners. Which then request a reboot to fix.
Mine has an 8-second delay.

Go into the SD Set-up Program and make sure all five tuners are there. Also check that the Prime is selected as CABLECARD and the HDHR is selected as DIGITAL. That should remove the number of tuner issue. You will have to re-run tv set-up to get the tuners into Media Center and when you do make...

Are these the same problems that you were having with your Ceton ETH6? If so, then your problems have likely been narrowed down to either the tuning adapter or signal strength issues with your incoming cable signal. I'm thinking tuning adapter just because you are getting some of your channels. As...

If a wired/ethernet connection is necessary for the initial set up, that will be possible.
However, for day to day use I will be connecting the prime in my main entertainment center (downstairs) - but which hard wired to my router is not possible.
Do I have any options - for a wireless set up?...
Last post
This may be a question more for Cox - so since the Prime independent from the dvr, could I put the Prime on my bookcase next to the router and thus only need a foot long Ethernet cable and use Cox's provided cable card OR do I still need a coaxial into the Prime?
Thx
