I would love to be able to change the screen in media center cast that shows up when it is idle. A screensaver like the actual chromecast dongle has.
Also change the name of the device without changing the name of my PC.
Can we display the network the computer is connected to?

To customize the homepage, simply open the Media Center Cast folder (in program files) and create a sub-folder called CustomPage and create your own index.html inside this folder. The next time you launch MCC, it will have your own page displayed.
As for changing the device name, it is not...

I did think about Miracast support before the Chromecast came out. However, it seems to me like Miracast is a mess right now. I have many Android devices at home and only my nexus 10 does the miracast properly. So the answer is no, not from me!

Download the latest beta (1.0B6) and get Chrome tab casting!
Note: You need a desktop chrome (Windows or Mac) and the Google Cast extension .

I could have sworn they demo'd it with the Android Chrome browser too.
You're right, but maybe it was a developer preview of the chrome browser. Neither android nor iOS chrome support chromecasting. The desktop version work's fine.

Tried to cast with Google Chrome and the cast plug-in. Worked at the youtube site. Tried to cast from another site like:
Screen when black like it was going to cast, but nothing showed on the screen. Then got Cast error on browser that it couldn't cast. Also tried full screen (Experimental)...

I am aware of that.As stated in the FAQ it seems to be a codec problem. It could also be a protocol problem... I still have to investigate.

I upgraded to B5 from B3. Now when I try to play a youtube on the MCE I get the error: Playback Error. The video is currently unavailable.
The video plays fine on my tablet.
Don't know what happened. Have not tried going back to B3 to see if it works back there.

I'm running the latest beta and I have a problem with the screen media center cast launches on. I have a dual display setup for my HTPC and MC Cast always launches on the wrong one. Is it possible to either specify the launch screen or launch on the same screen media center is on?

I have a screen with the cube on it, and underneath is a red bar saying Failed to stop the SSDP Discover.

Hey everyone,
some early adopters have been experiencing problems with their Crestron setups or getting an SSDP error message.
To all users, I imply you to download 1.0B3 which will fix all these early beta problems.

I recommend that you have some mechanism for re-starting the trial period, or having the trial period marker expire after awhile--something like how the folks at Recorded TV HD handle it.
That will allow people to re-visit the software after some period as it evolves, which I think is a good thing.

A new version has come and here are the highlights:
- Added background casting option to keep the service running in background and allow any-time casting
- Removed the .net 4.5 installation requirement (should now run on straight computers with built-in .net 3.5 like Windows 7)

The FAQ says, The WMC remotes controls the YouTube app perfectly. But, I couldn't pause with the WMC remote; I had to pause on the tablet. ???

Well to pause, you can use the YouTube control menu. Press the up arrow and use the left and right arrows to select the play /pause control. Press enter on the remote to toggle.
