Hi all,
Just a quick post to see if any of our members are willing / able to make a small donation to help cover our running costs?
I completely understand that times are hard for a lot of folks and many people are unable to offer any financial support.
Please don't feel pressured into donating...

Hi, there is no suggested donation amount - any amount is much appreciated

My New OTA setup

First, I have been a MCE user for about 4 years, and love it. With a little help from XBMC, Boxee and Netflix (with a little torrenting here and there), I cut the cable 4 years ago as well.
I am moving to a new home, and have sketched up my new setup. I now have all the components and can't wait...

Looks great! I do have to admire people if they are able to cut the cable , although OTA +7MC does make it a bit more bearable. Hopefully your OTA signal is good enough. You've probably thought about it a lot already, but if it were me, I'd send the signal from the main HTPC to the main tv, rather...

Add a Tuner

I currently have my Silicondust HDHR and Hauppauge HVR-2250 working quite nicely in my system.
I am getting an Hauppauge DCR-2650 for Christmas. My question is, how do I add the 2650 without having to re-do the settings on my other tuners (which was a PITA!)
Is it possible?
Last post
I have passed the digital cable advisor so i am set there. I am currently only using the 2250 and HDHR for QAM, not OTA.
Bummer i can't save the settings and just add a new tuner. Guess it will be a pain, but oh well.
Thanks!

According to the diagrams from my cable provider, USB connection from Tuning Adapter goes into the USB port on the device (Hauppauge DCR-2650, Ceton IFINITV4)....

The CableCARD is not paired with the TV. It is paired with the tuner. So if you change tuners, you'll have to re-pair the CableCARD.

I get my OTA HDTV feed from Philly and I just realized I'm missing center channel on CBS late night talk shows, but it's there for other channels, and dvd with 5.1 mix.

You pretty much have to sacrifice a live chicken to get your Comcast CableCARD working.
Haha, that is unacceptable. I would suggest you both file complaints with the FCC.

Hi all i've just bought a BlackGold BGT3540 on Ebay, bit of a gamble as it was sold as faulty as the seller can only get one dvb-s tuner to show up in his Windows 7 64bit.

Well just installed it and got 2 dvb-s tuners, plugged in the aerial for dvb-t and also getting 2 tuners for that. Tried recording 4 channels at once and they are all recording (2 freeview and 2 satellite) so seems to be a bargain buy.
I've now run into a problem where my PC can go to sleep but...

I don't know about cheaper but, better I've always like the SiliconDust HDHomeRun for QAM/ATSC for external. However with the price of the new Hauppauge DCR-2650 is probably a better deal since it is a CableCard tuner and you don't have to worry about just the clear QAM channels your cable provider...

Evolution of native support for the HDPVR has seemed to have stalled. If your cable company uses SDV, then you need a TA. The HDHR prime has a usb port to connect the TA directly to it (2 for the six tuner version), so not only is the tuner in the other room or closet, but the TA is too. With the Ceton card, don't you have to use one of the usb ports on the PC? If...
